Each item listed will have a description of the product for sale, images of the item, the photo and profile of the person selling it, and where they’re located. You can save things you’re interested in purchasing so you can go back to them later.

Once you find a product you wish to purchase, you can click on the “Send Offer” button or send the seller a message. Facebook also allows payment and shipping for some items, so you can use their interface to make a secure transaction.

Selling An Item Overview

If you’re selling an item, tap on the “Sell” button at the top left of the app, then select the category your listing will fall under. All categories except for Jobs will open an interface to let you upload photos saved on your phone.

When it comes to pictures of the product you’re selling, you can upload a photo of the item saved in your phone or take a photo of it using the camera function in the app.

Then enter the price, product description, and product name of your item. You will need to select the appropriate category your item will be listed under and confirm your location. You can also add more information, such as if you’re offering free shipping or if the item you’re selling comes in different styles or colors.

Once the item is posted, anyone in the area looking for the same thing you’re selling can now see your listing. You also have the option to list your Facebook Marketplace item in any Facebook buy and sell groups you’re a member of.

Facebook also awards two types of badges to sellers based on how well they interact with customers. As a seller, you can get a “Very Responsive” badge. This badge is given to sellers who respond quickly to customers who have any inquiries.

The second badge is the “Community Recommended” badge. This badge is given to sellers who receive consistently high ratings on Facebook Marketplace from customers.

The beauty of Facebook Marketplace is that you can list your items conveniently using your mobile, tablet, or desktop computer. To list items:
